Comments:
Lower Cam war memorial was moved from St Bartholomew's churchyard in Cam to a new position on Cam Pitch in 2011 because it was being corroded by a yew tree overhanging it. The memorial was professionally cleaned in 2018 and repaired and refurbished in 2019. The names on the war memorial are difficult to read because of the condition of the stone. Cam Parish Council was advised that re-cutting the letters of the names might make the stonework crumble so a decision was made to let the memorial age naturally. A full list of the names can be found in nearby St Bartholomew’s Church and a plaque informing people of this has been fixed in front of the memorial.
