Comments:
Memorial base is level with no tilt evident. However, there are a number of areas where stone is delaminating (e.g. horizontal surfaces on the pedestal) and some shallow fissures on memorial column. Lantern is eroded but no cracks observed. Surfaces covered in algal and moss growth, which will be the focus for this summer's maintenance programme. Quotes are being sought from an appropriate heritage qualified stonemason for cleaning and some repair. Incised script on memorial is eroded but legible. The memorial will be next surveyed by the stonemason with a follow-up custodian condition survey prior to Remembrance Sunday 2025.
