About the memorial: The North Head Memorial Tower was raised in 1909 by public subscription, and dedicated to Caithness men who had served in military campaigns from 1700 to 1909. A detailed list of 400 veterans was complied by the Rev Horne in 1909 and exists. The Memorial tower was recently saved from Highland council demolition. A plan to restore to the tower is currently be developed.
